Helen Burkett

Helen studied Drama for three years at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI and was a member of the Full circle College Dance company. She attended CCS Detroit, MI to continue her education in Modern dance. Attending numerous dance conventions, master classes and 15 years of dance training at her local dance studio Noretta Dunworths. Helen decided it was time to hit the big stage.

After making her way to the Big Apple to fullfill her dreams of studying at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance and performing in modern dance companies, Helen decided it was time for false eyelashes and rhinestones, and The World Famous Pontani Sisters was born. Since its inception, the trio of temptresses has changed the face of dance as we know it. Helen has dazzled audiences from the gritty big top of Coney Island to the glittering lights of Hollywood, traveling in dozens of national and international tours while making frequent appearances on Late Night with Conan OBrien, Gossip Girl, MTV, VH1 among others. Appearing in showstopping performances that have earned critical acclaim from the Times, Post, Daily News, Village Voice, and Time Out magazine. Performing in a two year run of the off broadway show This is Burlesque. She earned her name as the Tappin' Tornado. Helen even has her own work-out dvd with her famous sisters go go robics I and II. 

She has spent the last few years focusing on her teaching at Take a Bow performing arts center. Infusing her love of Modern, Broadway jazz, Contemporary, Broadway and rhthym tap dance to create her own special style of teaching. Helen also spent the last three years as head teacher of Take A Bow's Drama program. She loves the performing arts and wants to share it with the world!
